Very predictable result when third ranked Alftanes (14-8) defeated at home bottom-ranked IA (1-20) 96-83. The game was mostly controlled by Alftanes. IA was better in second period 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. American forward Cedrick Bowen (198-1992, college: Charleston So.) notched 29 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and Slovenian forward Sinisa Bilic (202-1989, agency: 011 Sports) supported him with 24 points and 6 assists. Alftanes' coach Hrafn Kristjansson allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists by American swingman Chris Clover (190-1997, college: St.Joseph's) did not help to save the game for IA. Irish-British guard Lucien Christofis (188-1996) added 19 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Five IA players scored in double figures. Alftanes maintains third position with 14-8 record having four points less than leader Haukar. IA lost ninth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 20 lost games. Alftanes will play against Sindri (#5) in the next round. IA will play against Hamar (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
