Rather predictable result when seventh ranked Koroivos (10-6) won against at home 10th ranked Filippos Veroias (8-10) 96-79 on Saturday. Koroivos shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. The winners were led by Serbian guard Stefan Mitrovic (195-1996) who scored that evening 20 points and 7 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and point guard Sarandis Mastrogiannopoulos (194-1997, agency: Octagon Europe) supported him with 23 points and 4 assists. Even 17 points and 7 rebounds by Konstantinos Iatridis (207-2001) did not help to save the game for Filippos Veroias. Forward Giorgos Garezos (198-1995) added 14 points and 7 rebounds for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Koroivos moved-up to sixth place. Loser Filippos Veroias keeps the tenth position with ten games lost. Koroivos will meet Agriniou (#12) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Filippos Veroias will play against the league's leader Karditsas and hope to secure a win.
