Regular Season Round 22: Langen - Reutlingen 94-93

There was a minor upset when 11th ranked Reutlingen (6-10) was edged on the road by thirteenth ranked TV Langen (6-12) 94-93 on Sunday. Point guard Henk Droste (195-2001) fired a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Alfred Johnson chipped in 17 points and 7 rebounds. Croatian forward Nikola Gaurina (197-1983, agency: Interperformances) produced 21 points and 8 rebounds and Noel Duarte (186-2001) added 21 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five TV Langen and four Reutlingen players scored in double figures. Reutlingen's coach Vasilios Tsouknidis tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. TV Langen moved-up to twelfth place in South West. Newly promoted Reutlingen keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. TV Langen will meet at home higher ranked Saarlouis (#5) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Reutlingen will play against Bensheim (#13) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
