Regular Season Round 23: Focsani - Constanta 79-67

Worth to mention about the upset in a game between Constanta (9-12) and Focsani (8-12), which took place in Focsani. Higher ranked Constanta lost to twelfth ranked Focsani in a road game 67-79. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Constanta. It looked good early as Constanta took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Focsani had a 22-11 second period charge getting the lead and Constanta was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-79. Focsani players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. It was a great evening for Serbian Pavle Reljic (193-1993) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward Justin Baker (203-1989, college: Utah Valley) helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. Baker is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Focsani players scored in double figures. Saint Lucian-Canadian guard Adika Peter-McNeilly (190-1993, college: Ryerson) responded with 16 points and 5 assists and New Zealand forward Maxwell Darling (196-2000, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Focsani moved-up to eleventh place. Constanta at the other side keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. Focsani will play against higher ranked Steaua B. (#7) in Bucuresti in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Constanta will play at home against Ploiesti CSM and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
