Regular Season Round 23: Wolfenbuettel - Vechta 2 79-88

Very predictable result when first ranked Vechta-2 (19-4) beat on the road 10th ranked Wolfenbuettel (7-13) 88-79 on Saturday. Vechta-2 forced 21 Wolfenbuettel turnovers. It was a great evening for Justin Onyejiaka Chukuwueme (190-2004) who led his team to a victory scoring 25 points and 7 rebounds. Kevin Smit (183-1991) helped adding 17 points and 7 assists. British-Israeli power forward Joshua Djanogly (207-1998, college: McGill) responded with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and naturalized American point guard Anish Sharda (187-1982, college: St.Mary's, KS) scored 11 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Four Wolfenbuettel players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Vechta-2 have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain first place in North with 19-4 record. Wolfenbuettel lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Vechta-2 will meet at home Bergedorf (#12) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Wolfenbuettel will play against Neustadt TSV and hope to secure a win.
