Regular Season Round 23: MBC - Bayreuth 105-81

An interesting game took place in Weissenfels where higher ranked Bayreuth (11-11) was upset on the court of fourteenth ranked MBC (7-14) 105-81 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bayreuth. MBC shot 63.2 percent from the field and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. MBC looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Bayreuth's players. The best player for the winners was Kostja Mushidi (195-1998) who scored 23 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). American forward Reggie Upshaw Jr. (203-1995, college: MTSU) chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Five MBC players scored in double figures. Coach Igor Jovovic's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players saving starting five for next games. American forward Terry Allen (203-1993, college: Richmond) produced 23 points and the other American import swingman Sacar Anim (196-1997, college: Marquette) added 26 points respectively for the guests. MBC moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Heidelberg. Loser Bayreuth keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. MBC will meet higher ranked Hakro Merlins (#8) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bayreuth will play against 46ers and hope to secure a win.
