Regular Season Round 21: Chalon - Saint Vallier 78-72

Very predictable result when second ranked Chalon/Saor (16-5) beat at home 8th ranked Saint Vallier (10-11) 78-72 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The former international Mickael Gelabale (204-1983) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and American guard Desi Washington (188-1992, college: St.Peter's) chipped in 20 points. Four Chalon/Saor players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Demond Watt (200-1989, college: TAMUCC) with 15 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Spanish guard Marcos Suka-Umu (193-1985) scored 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Chalon/Saor keeps a position of league leader, which they share with St-Chamond. Saint Vallier lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth place with 11 games lost. They share the position with Lille. Chalon/Saor will meet JA Vichy (#6) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Saint Vallier will play against Lille Metropole and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
