Everything went according to plan when third ranked Obradoiro S. (17-6) outplayed on the road 12th ranked Betanzos (9-14) 93-69 on Sunday. They outrebounded Betanzos 48-34 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Eluku Nongo (-2004) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks. Point guard Miguel Souto (180-2002) accounted for 20 points for the winning side. Center Marcos Rozas (202-1983) came up with 20 points and Senegalese center Amadou Ndiaye (210-1998) added 10 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Betanzos in the defeat. Five Obradoiro S. and four Betanzos players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Obradoiro S.. They maintain third place in Group A-B with 17-6 record behind leader Barca 2. Betanzos at the other side keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Obradoiro S. will meet at home Marin (#7) in the next round. Betanzos will play against La Flecha (#9) in Arroyo Encomienda and hope to secure a win.
