Regular Season Round 24: Turk Telekom - Anadolu Efes 84-99
Date: March 6, 2022
Everything went according to plan when second ranked Efes (17-4) defeated 11th ranked Turk Telekom (10-12) in Ankara 99-84 on Sunday. Efes looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The winners were led by Serbian point guard Vasilije Micic (196-1994, agency: BeoBasket) who scored that evening 24 points and 6 assists and international point guard Ahmet Tuncer (193-1993) supported him with 16 points and 4 assists. Five Efes players scored in double figures. Even 25 points (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field) by American JaJuan Johnson (208-1989, college: Purdue) did not help to save the game for Turk Telekom. His fellow American import center Octavius Ellis (208-1993, college: Cincinnati, agency: Network Sports International) added 12 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Efes have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 17-4 record behind leader Fenerbahce. Loser Turk Telekom keeps the eleventh place with 12 games lost. Efes' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Dacka.
