Regular Season Round 23: Leon - La Flecha 87-61

There was no surprise when 8th ranked La Flecha (10-13) was outleveled on the road by fourth ranked Leon (16-7) 87-61 on Sunday. Leon dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to La Flecha's 24. Leon forced 23 La Flecha turnovers and outrebounded them 47-26 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for Argentinian swingman Federico Copes (199-2002) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Alan Morchon (188-1999) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Five Leon players scored in double figures. Guard Millan Lopez (185-1994) came up with 22 points and Pablo Martin (199-2001) added 11 points and 10 rebounds respectively for La Flecha in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Leon maintains fourth place in Group A-B with 16-7 record. La Flecha at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Avila and Culleredo. Leon will meet Chantada (#5) on the road in the next round. La Flecha will play against Betanzos (#12) and hope to secure a win.
