There was no surprise when 14th ranked Obradoiro (7-15) was edged on the road by fifth ranked Tenerife (12-8) 86-83 on Sunday. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The best player for the winners was Brazilian-Italian point guard Marcelinho Huertas (191-1983) who scored 33 points (!!!) and 7 assists. Canadian power forward Kyle Wiltjer (206-1992, college: Gonzaga) chipped in 16 points. Canadian guard Kassius Robertson (190-1994, college: Missouri, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 23 points and 5 assists and Lithuanian center Laurynas Birutis (213-1997) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Four Obradoiro players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Tenerife have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 12-8 record. Loser Obradoiro keeps the fourteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Andorra and Fuenlabrada. Tenerife will meet Zaragoza (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Obradoiro will play against Baskonia and hope to secure a win.
