Regular Season Round 22: Neptunas - TTT Riga 98-62

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Latvian TTT Riga (22-1) in Klaipeda on Sunday night. Visitors were rolled over by third ranked Lithuanian Neptunas (15-5) 98-62. It ended at the same time the 22-game winning streak of TTT Riga. The game without a history. Neptunas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to TTT Riga's 36. They outrebounded TTT Riga 42-25 including a 32-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Neptunas looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by TTT Riga's players. Worth to mention a great performance of Brazilian Maisa Pereira (183-2002, agency: Interperformances) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds. American point guard Savannah Plentovich (172-1998, college: Gardner-Webb, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Neptunas players scored in double figures. Raina Tomasicka (180-2005) replied with 22 points and 5 rebounds and Latvian forward Dinija Pavelsone (174-1998) added 22 points in the effort for TTT Riga. Neptunas maintains third position with 15-5 record having ten points less than leader RSU 2. Defending Latvian champion TTT Riga still keeps top place with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
