Regular Season Round 27: Prievidza - Spisski Rytieri 67-86

Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Prievidza (5-21) was rolled over at home by fourth ranked Spisski Rytieri (14-13) 86-67 on Monday. Spisski Rytieri dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Prievidza's 28. The best player for the winners was American guard David Dennis (185-1997, college: Nova SE) who scored 13 points, 9 assists and 6 steals. The former international center Michal Batka (204-1987) chipped in 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Spisski Rytieri players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian forward Alonzo Walker (198-1996, college: Portland St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds and Bosnian center Haris Cucovic (205-1998, agency: Alti Sport) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Prievidza's coach Maros Helmecy tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 14-13 record. Prievidza lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 21 lost games. Spisski Rytieri will meet league's leader Levice on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Prievidza will play against Inter Bratislava (#5) and hope to secure a win.
