There was no surprise when 11th ranked Alginet (7-12) was edged at home by seventh ranked Cartagena (11-9) 76-75 on Wednesday. Cartagena made 25-of-27 free shots (92.6 percent) during the game, while Alginet only scored eight points from the stripe. The best player for the winners was American center Andre Berry (203-1995, college: URI) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Victor Aguilar (185-1998) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Lithuanian center Rokas Gadiliauskas (211-1998) who recorded a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and Argentinian Alejandro Zurbriggen (194-1995) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Alginet players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Cartagena moved-up to sixth place in Silver. Alginet at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eleventh position with 12 games lost. Cartagena will meet at home Cornella (#8) in the next round.
