No shocking result in a game when eleventh ranked Faenza (6-16) edged at home 13th ranked Moncalieri (4-17) 54-51 on Wednesday. Faenza forced 26 Moncalieri turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for Nigerian forward Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah (188-1997, college: Northwestern, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. American guard Jori Davis (176-1989, college: Indiana) accounted for 12 points for the winning side. Faenza's coach Diego Sguaizer used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Slovakian center Marie Ruzickova (190-1986) came up with 15 points and Croatian power forward Lea Miletic (181-1995) added 6 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Moncalieri in the defeat. Newly promoted Faenza maintains eleventh place with 6-16 record. Moncalieri lost their fourth game in a row. Moncalieri at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Faenza will meet at home higher ranked Campobasso (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Moncalieri will play against Ragusa (#5) and hope to secure a win.
