There was no surprise when 9th ranked Marousi (10-10) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Koroivos (13-6) 93-82 on Saturday. Koroivos shot 27 for 37 from the free-throw line, while Marousi only scored ten points from the stripe. It was a great evening for Nikos Paparegkas (200-1994) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points. Point guard Sarandis Mastrogiannopoulos (194-1997, agency: Octagon Europe) helped adding 20 points and 4 assists. Point guard Pavlos Xydas (185-1993) responded with 22 points and 6 assists and forward Giannis Papageorgopoulos (204-1991) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Marousi's coach Giorgos Skarafingas rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Koroivos. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Marousi keeps the ninth position with ten games lost. Koroivos will meet Tritonas S. (#6) in the next round. Marousi will play against the league's leader Karditsas and hope to secure a win.
