Regular Season Round 24: Alcobendas - Guadalajara 95-87

Very expected game when 9th ranked Guadalajara (10-12) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Alcobendas (14-10) 95-87 on Saturday. Alcobendas made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was forward Alejandro Fortes (204-1990) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds. Forward Alberto de la Torre (201-1994) chipped in 14 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Raul Lazaro (195-1987) who recorded 15 points and 9 rebounds and Venezuelan power forward Luis Valera (202-1988, college: UTRGV) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Alcobendas and five Guadalajara players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alcobendas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Alcala. Loser Guadalajara keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. Alcobendas will meet Estudiantes B (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Guadalajara will play against Quintanar (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
