Regular Season Round 21: E.N. Paralimni - APOP 81-79
Date: March 12, 2022
Very predictable result when fourth ranked E.N. Paralimni (13-8) edged at home 10th ranked APOP (6-15) 81-79 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-79. E.N. Paralimni outrebounded APOP 37-22 including a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Eric McClellan (193-1993, college: Gonzaga) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. Power forward DeAndre Dickson (206-1992, college: WWU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds. Four E.N. Paralimni players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Dee Davis (178-1993, college: Xavier, agency: Inception Sports) who recorded 23 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and forward Justin Martin (199-1990, college: SMU) added 29 points and 8 rebounds respectively. E.N. Paralimni have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 13-8 record. APOP lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Etha. E.N. Paralimni will meet Achilleas K. (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. APOP will play against Etha and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
