There was a minor upset when 4th placed Leverkusen (16-10) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Falcons (16-9) 102-90 on Saturday. Falcons looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Evan Taylor (196-1996, college: Nebraska) who scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import guard Dupree McBrayer (195-1996, college: Minnesota) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. Five Falcons players scored in double figures. American guard Spencer Reaves (191-1995, college: Central Mo., agency: One Motive Sports) produced 23 points and center Dennis Heinzmann (216-1991) added 9 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Falcons moved-up to fourth place. Loser Leverkusen dropped to the fifth position with ten games lost. Falcons will meet at home Gladiators (#6) in the next round. Leverkusen will play against the league's second-placed Science City Jena and hope to secure a win.
