There was a surprise result in Elche where eighth ranked Ilicitano (1-6) beat higher ranked Carolinas (3-3) 61-55 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was forward Jose Luis Ibanez (198-2000) who scored 23 points. Forward Jorge Lledo (203-1980) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Pablo Lopez-Valverde (-2000) who recorded 9 points and 8 rebounds and Ruben Ortuno (-1992) added 10 points respectively. Ilicitano left bottom position moving up to seventh place, which they share with Picken Claret. Carolinas at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fourth position with three games lost. Ilicitano will meet at home higher ranked Tabernes (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Carolinas will play against the league's second-placed Alginet B where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
