Regular Season Round 20: Njardvik - KR 90-125

The most important game in the last round took place in Njardvik between second ranked Njardvik (14-5) and eighth ranked KR (9-10) on Monday night. Njardvik was crushed by KR at home 125-90. The game was mostly controlled by KR. Njardvik managed to win fourth quarter 30-29. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Njardvik's 38 and made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Njardvik 47-26 including a 38-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. KR shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Danish guard Adama Darboe (190-1986, agency: Slash Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 assists and Finnish Carl Lindbom (206-1991, agency: BIG) who added 19 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. The former international Maciej Baginski (193-1995) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Dedrick Basile (178-1994, college: CSUB) scored 14 points and 9 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Njardvik's coach Halldor Karlsson gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. KR maintains eighth position with 9-10 record. Njardvik at the other side keeps the second place with five games lost. KR are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Thor AK (#12) in Akureyri in the next round. Njardvik will play on the road against IR (#10) in Reykjavik and is hoping to win this game.
