There was a minor upset when 8th ranked Steaua B. (10-13) was defeated on the road by eleventh ranked Ploiesti CSM (10-11) 84-79 on Monday. Steaua B. was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Ploiesti CSM dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Steaua B.'s 40. American guard Deion Hammond (193, college: Monmouth) stepped up and scored 23 points for the winners and Serbian-North Macedonian point guard Andrej Magdevski (192-1996, agency: Mansfield and Associates) chipped in 18 points and 6 assists. Ploiesti CSM's coach Mihai Popa used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side Serbian Nikola Cvetinovic (203-1988, college: Akron) responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds and Croatian point guard Karlo Vragovic (192-1989) scored 18 points and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ploiesti CSM moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Sibiu. Loser Steaua B. dropped to the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Constanta.
