Seventeenth-ranked 46ers (5-18) gave a tough game to thirteenth ranked MBC (9-15) in Weissenfels on Thursday. MBC managed to secure only two-point victory 91-89. However their fans expected much easier game. The best player for the winners was American forward Reggie Upshaw Jr (203-1995, college: MTSU) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds. The other American import guard AJ English (192-1992, college: Iona, agency: Slash Sports) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Kendale McCullum (194-1996, college: Lewis, agency: Octagon Europe) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 assists and American-South Sudanese Nuni Omot (206-1994, college: Baylor) added 24 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. MBC have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Braunschweig. Loser 46ers dropped to the bottom position with 18 games lost. MBC will meet at home league's leader Telekom Baskets in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. 46ers will play against EWE Baskets (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
