The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Telekom Baskets as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Telekom Baskets smashed 10th ranked Bayreuth in Bonn 86-65. Telekom Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Bayreuth's players. American point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright (176-1995, college: Arizona) scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and Lithuanian forward Saulius Kulvietis (206-1991) chipped in 22 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. Estonian forward Janari Joesaar (198-1993, college: UTRGV) responded with 12 points and 7 rebounds and Lithuanian center Martynas Sajus (208-1996) scored 12 points (perfect from the field making all six shots). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Telekom Baskets have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Bayreuth lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 14 games lost. Bayreuth will play next round against Brose Bamberg trying to get back on the winning streak. Telekom Baskets will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked MBC in Weissenfels.
