Second Stage Round 6: Anadolu Efes - Besiktas 61-67

Another interesting game was again a derby between two teams from Istanbul: Besiktas (#3) and Anadolu Efes (#2). Anadolu Efes was defeated at home 61-67 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. Besiktas dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Anadolu Efes' 30. Yigit Coban (-2002) notched 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Ege Ozsever (-2003) supported him with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Even a double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds by Mehmet Demirel (-2005) did not help to save the game for Anadolu Efes. Guard Ozan Yilmaz (190-2003, agency: BeoBasket) added 9 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Besiktas have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 10-5 record having just three points less than leader Gaziantep. Anadolu Efes at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. Besiktas' supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Galatasaray.
