There was a small surprise when sixteenth ranked Unicaja (8-13) won against 13th ranked Obradoiro (8-16) in Santiago de Compostela 85-71 on Saturday. Unicaja made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. International guard Dario Brizuela (188-1994) nailed 24 points and 5 assists for the winning side and American forward Cameron Oliver (203-1996, college: Nevada) accounted for 17 points and 6 rebounds. British-Canadian guard Philip Scrubb (191-1992, college: Carleton, agency: Octagon Europe) came up with 12 points and 5 rebounds and American point guard Braydon Hobbs (196-1989, college: Bellarmine) added 14 points respectively for Obradoiro in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Unicaja moved-up to twelfth place. Loser Obradoiro dropped to the fifteenth position with 16 games lost. They share it with Andorra. Unicaja will meet at home bottom-ranked Real Betis (#18) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Obradoiro will play against Breogan in Lugo and hope to secure a win.
