Regular Season Round 24: Saint Vallier - Nancy 70-89

The game in Saint Vallier was also quite interesting. Third ranked Sluc Nancy (16-9) played at the court of 8th ranked Saint Vallier (12-12). Sluc Nancy did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 89-70 on Saturday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Saint Vallier. Sluc Nancy shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 63.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Stephane Gombauld (205-1997, agency: Slash Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds and Antony Labanca (192-1994) who added 25 points and 5 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Sluc Nancy players scored in double figures. Sluc Nancy's coach Sylvain Lautie used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American forward Demond Watt (200-1989, college: TAMUCC) with 17 points and 8 rebounds and American-Jamaican center Ryan Rhoomes (203-1992, college: Fordham) scored 12 points and 7 rebounds. Sluc Nancy maintains third position with 16-9 record having just one point less than leader St-Chamond. Newly promoted Saint Vallier keeps the eighth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Evreux and Lille. Sluc Nancy will meet Boulazac Basket (#16) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Saint Vallier will play against ALM Evreux (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
