A2 top team - Karditsas (18-1) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat ninth ranked Marousi (10-11) in Athens 79-74. Karditsas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Marousi helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for Montenegrin center Milovan Draskovic (211-1995) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Dimitris Verginis (194-1987, agency: Wasserman) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four Karditsas players scored in double figures. Point guard Orfeas Stasinos (183-1988) replied with 10 points and 7 assists and forward Petros Kanelis (200-1990) added 13 points in the effort for Marousi. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Karditsas have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 18-1 record. Marousi lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 11 games lost. Karditsas are looking forward to face Tritonas S. (#3) in Athens in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
