Regular Season Round 21: H.Eilat - Bnei Hertzeliya 79-96

Date: March 20, 2022
Very expected game when 11th ranked Hapoel Eilat (7-13) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Bnei Hasharon (12-7) 96-79 on Sunday. Bnei Hasharon shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 62.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. The best player for the winners was American Chris Babb (196-1990, college: Iowa St.) who scored 23 points. Naturalized American swingman Sandy Cohen III (198-1995, college: Green Bay) chipped in 21 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Toney Douglas (189-1986, college: FSU) who recorded 23 points and 5 assists and the former international point guard Roi Huber (188-1997) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bnei Hasharon maintains fourth place with 12-7 record. Hapoel Eilat lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Bnei Hasharon will meet at home higher ranked Hapoel Holon (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Hapoel Eilat will play against Hapoel Beer Sheva (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
