Regular Season Round 25: Valencia - Zaragoza 81-79
Date: March 20, 2022
Not a big story in a game when 13th ranked Zaragoza (8-15) was edged on the road by sixth ranked Valencia (14-8) 81-79 on Sunday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Valencia outrebounded Zaragoza 39-28 including 16 on the offensive glass. Slovenian Klemen Prepelic (191-1992) nailed 21 points and 5 assists for the winning side and the former international Jaime Pradilla (204-2001) accounted for 14 points and 9 rebounds. Four Valencia players scored in double figures. American point guard Jordan Bone (190-1997, college: Tennessee) came up with 27 points and 5 rebounds and Icelandic center Tryggvi Hlinason (215-1997) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Zaragoza in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Valencia moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Joventut and Tenerife. Zaragoza lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Fuenlabrada. Valencia will meet Murcia (#8) on the road in the next round. Zaragoza will play against Burgos (#17) and hope to secure a win.
