Regular Season Round 26: Hamar - Haukar 86-107

Leader Haukar delivered the twenty fourth victory. This time they crushed 9th ranked Hamar (4-22) 107-86. The game was mostly controlled by Haukar. Hamar was better in third quarter 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Dutch center Deion Bute (206-1995, college: CCSU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Spanish point guard Jose Medina (185-1993) contributed with 16 points and 6 assists for the winners. Haukar's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American guard Dee Franklin (196-1992, college: FVSU) replied with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Dadi Gretarsson (185-1991) added 13 points and 9 assists in the effort for Hamar. Four Haukar and five Hamar players scored in double figures. Haukar (24-2) have an impressive 14-game winning streak. They maintain first position. Hamar lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 22 games lost. Haukar will play against league's second-placed Hottur in Egilsstadir in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hamar will play on the road against Hrunamenn (#7) in Fludir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
