Regular Season Round 32: Leuven - Den Bosch 84-65

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Leuven. Third ranked Belgian Leuven Bears faced second-ranked Dutch Den Bosch. Host Leuven Bears (2-1) smashed guests from Den Bosch (1-2) 84-65. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Leuven Bears outrebounded Den Bosch 36-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Leuven Bears made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Joshua Heath (186-1994, college: Georgia Tech) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 9 assists and 4 steals and Slovenian swingman Jakob Cebasek (200-1991) who added 13 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four Leuven Bears players scored in double figures. American forward Clay Mounce (201-1998, college: Furman) responded with 14 points and his fellow American import guard Austin Price (193-1995, college: Lehigh) scored 10 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Leuven Bears keep a position of league leader, which they share with Leiden. Loser Den Bosch dropped to the third place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Leuven Bears will meet at home Zwolle (#4) in the next round. Den Bosch will play against the league's second-placed Kangoeroes in Mechelen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
