Regular Season Round 27: Constanta - Craiova 69-71

Eleventh-ranked Constanta (10-15) used its home court advantage to challenge fifth ranked Craiova (15-8) on Wednesday. The visitors from Craiova managed to secure only two-point victory 71-69. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Josh Hawley (201-1996, college: Tarleton St.) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import guard Michael Qualls (197-1994, college: Arkansas, agency: Inception Sports) accounted for 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Saint Lucian-Canadian guard Adika Peter-McNeilly (190-1993, college: Ryerson) came up with 11 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Andrei Oprean (182-1999, agency: BIG) added 13 points respectively for Constanta in the defeat. Constanta's coach Alexandru Olteanu tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Craiova maintains fifth place with 15-8 record. Constanta lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Craiova will meet at home Steaua B. (#9) in the next round. Constanta will play against Oradea and hope to secure a win.
