We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 12th ranked Melilla (11-15) was outscored at home by thirteenth ranked Valladolid (11-14) 79-60 on Friday. Valladolid dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Melilla's 26. They outrebounded Melilla 40-29 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American center Kavion Pippen (208-1996, college: SIU) notched 12 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and Australian-Croatian swingman Dominic Gilbert (201-1996, college: UBC, agency: BIG) supported him with 7 points and 10 rebounds. Even 15 points and 6 rebounds by Belgian center Amaury Gorgemans (212-1992) did not help to save the game for Melilla.
