Regular Season Round 26: Burgos - Zaragoza 78-56
Date: March 26, 2022
There was a minor upset when 14th ranked Zaragoza (8-16) was crushed on the road by seventeenth ranked Burgos (8-16) 78-56 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American forward Jarell Eddie (201-1991, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 19 points. The former international Daniel Diez (203-1993) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. Four Burgos players scored in double figures. American-Ivorian center Deon Thompson (204-1988, college: UNC, agency: BeoBasket) produced 9 points and 7 rebounds and Montenegrin Dino Radoncic (202-1999) added 4 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Burgos moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Fuenlabrada and Zaragoza. Zaragoza lost fifth consecutive game. Burgos will meet higher ranked Breogan (#8) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Zaragoza will play against Joventut (#4) and will have a slim chance for a victory.
