There was a small surprise when thirteenth ranked Yalova (7-17) defeated at home 11th ranked Turk Telekom (10-14) 72-68 on Saturday. Yalova dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Turk Telekom's 18. They outrebounded Turk Telekom 34-22 including a 28-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Yalova looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Yalova made 8 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for American center Marcus Lee (208-1994, college: California) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 5 blocks. Slovenian point guard Luka Rupnik (186-1993) accounted for 11 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists for the winning side. Five Yalova players scored in double figures. Yalova's coach Hakan Yavuz used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American-Kazakhstan point guard Anthony Clemmons (187-1994, college: Iowa, agency: BeoBasket) came up with 16 points and 6 assists and American guard Jared Terrell (191-1995, college: URI) added 23 points respectively for Turk Telekom in the defeat.
