There was an upset when higher ranked BG Goettingen (14-10) was defeated at home by sixteenth ranked s Oliver Baskets (9-17) 89-76 on Sunday. s Oliver Baskets dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to BG Goettingen's 26. s Oliver Baskets looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Cameron Hunt (192-1997, college: Southwestern, KS) who led his team to a victory scoring 14 points and 5 assists. The former international power forward Filip Stanic (207-1998, agency: BeoBasket) helped adding 10 points and 9 rebounds. Five s Oliver Baskets players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Nate Grimes (203-1996, college: Fresno St., agency: Agency) with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import point guard Stephen Brown Jr (180-1996, college: Bucknell) scored 20 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for s Oliver Baskets. They moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with MBC. Loser BG Goettingen keeps the seventh position with ten games lost. s Oliver Baskets will meet at home higher ranked Chemnitz (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BG Goettingen will play against Braunschweig and hope to secure a win.
