Regular Season Round 25: Fos-Provence - Dijon 97-79
Date: March 29, 2022
Bottom-ranked Provence Basket managed to get a seventh victory, breaking the series of three consecutive losses on Tuesday night. This time newly promoted Provence Basket won against sixth-ranked JDA Dijon in Fos-sur-Mer 97-79. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 18-point difference suggests that Provence Basket is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. They made 29-of-36 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game, while JDA Dijon only scored five points from the stripe. Provence Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-Liberian Lasan Kromah (198-1991, college: UConn) who helped to win the game recording 30 points and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws). Center Bodian Massa (205-1997) contributed with 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American point guard David Holston (173-1986, college: Chicago St.) answered with 17 points and 7 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and the other American import Rashard Kelly (203-1995, college: Wichita St.) added 12 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for JDA Dijon. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. JDA Dijon's coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Provence Basket (7-17) moved-up to seventeenth place, which they share with Chalons-Reims. JDA Dijon at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Provence Basket is looking forward to face higher ranked Le Mans (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. JDA Dijon will play against Pau-Lacq-Orthez having rather not much hope for a victory.
