Regular Season Round 26: Vichy Clermont - Nantes 108-126

There was an upset when higher ranked JA Vichy (13-11) was defeated at home by thirteenth ranked Nantes (11-15) 126-108 on Tuesday. Nantes had a 37-24 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists. The best player for the winners was Jerome Sanchez (197-1990) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists. American-Armenian point guard Terry Smith (185-1986, college: Mercyhurst) chipped in 24 points and 8 assists. Nantes' coach Jean-Marc Dupraz used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Cameroonian guard Samir Gbetkom Bikantchou (191-1998) produced 35 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists and Ivorian Cedric Bah (198-1994) added 22 points and 12 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Nantes and four JA Vichy players scored in double figures. Nantes have a solid three-game winning streak. Despite that victory Nantes went down to fourteenth position due to points difference, which they share with ASA. JA Vichy lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 11 games lost. Nantes will meet higher ranked Saint-Quentin (#6) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. JA Vichy will play against Tours and hope to secure a win.
