Rather expected game when 8th ranked Tofas (15-11) was defeated on the road by fifth ranked Gaziantep (17-9) 108-92 on Wednesday. Gaziantep made 26-of-30 free shots (86.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American point guard QJ Peterson (183-1994, college: VMI) fired 30 points and 8 assists (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) for the winners. The other American import Jarmar Gulley (196-1991, college: Missouri St.) chipped in 26 points and 4 assists. Mexican Francisco Cruz (191-1989, college: Wyoming) produced 16 points and 6 assists and American center Jeremy Simmons (204-1989, college: Charleston) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Gaziantep have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Tofas dropped to the seventh position with 11 games lost. Gaziantep will meet at home Socar Petkim (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Tofas will play against Pinar Karsiyaka (#5) in Izmir and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
