Regular Season Round 32: Walbrzych - Lancut 85-91

An interesting game for Sokol (24-6) which played road game in Walbrzych against second-ranked Gornik (23-8). First ranked Sokol managed to get a 6-point victory 91-85. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Gornik. Sokol looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Point guard Marcin Nowakowski (184-1989) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Filip Struski (200-1994) contributed with 10 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. The former international center Piotr Niedzwiedzki (210-1993) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and guard Marcin Dymala (187-1990) added 16 points in the effort for Gornik. Five Sokol and four Gornik players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sokol maintains first position with 24-6 record. Gornik at the other side keeps the second place with eight games lost. Sokol are looking forward to face Kotwica (#3) in Kolobrzeg in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Gornik will play on the road against Tychy and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
