Regular Season Round 37: Den Bosch - Oostende 75-66

The biggest surprise took place in Den Bosch where host Dutch Den Bosch (2-3) beat league's leader Belgian Oostende (4-1) 75-66 on Friday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Oostende. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Oostende 42-27 including 31 on the defensive glass. Center Thomas van der Mars (208-1990, college: Portland, agency: Duran International) fired 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Finnish point guard Edon Maxhuni (188-1998, college: LBSU) chipped in 11 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Den Bosch players scored in double figures. American guard Levi Randolph (196-1992, college: Alabama, agency: Slash Sports) produced 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Phil Booth (190-1995, college: Villanova) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Den Bosch keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 3 other teams. Defending Belgian champion Oostende dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with 4 other teams. They were replaced at the leadership position by Leiden. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
