Regular Season Round 27: Zaragoza - Joventut 63-77

Very expected game when 16th ranked Zaragoza (8-17) was defeated at home by fifth ranked Joventut (16-8) 77-63 on Saturday. Joventut outrebounded Zaragoza 42-25 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Slovakian forward Vladimir Brodziansky (210-1994, college: TCU, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. The former international forward Joel Parra (202-2000) helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international Santiago Yusta (200-1997) with 13 points and 5 rebounds and Polish Adam Waczynski (199-1989) scored 12 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Joventut have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 16-8 record. Zaragoza lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifteenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with Burgos. Joventut will meet higher ranked Manresa (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zaragoza will play against Real Betis (#18) in Sevilla and hope to secure a win.
