Date: April 3, 2022
The game was mostly controlled by Kauhajoki. Lahti was better in third quarter 28-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kauhajoki dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Lahti's 36 and made 22-of-25 charity shots (88.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Lahti 34-23 including 26 on the defensive glass. American swingman Rene Rougeau (198-1986, college: UNLV, agency: Blacktop Management) stepped up and scored 17 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and his fellow American import guard Cameron Jones (193-1989, college: NAU, agency: BIG) chipped in 19 points and 4 steals (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. At the losing side swingman Erik Sajantila (195-2001, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 25 points and 4 steals and American forward Chris Clarke (196-1996, college: Texas Tech) scored 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
