Leader Etoile Angers delivered the thirteenth victory on Tuesday night. This time they beat 10th ranked Lyon (4-11) 76-60. Etoile Angers forced 24 Lyon turnovers. It was a great evening for American point guard Akaemji Williams (175-1996, college: LSSU) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 5 steals. Swingman Stephan Gauthier (192-1995) helped adding 6 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side forward Elwin Ndjock (193-1993) responded with 19 points and the former international point guard Marc-Antoine Pellin (171-1987) scored 7 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Etoile Angers (13-2) have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place. Lyon lost seventh consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. Etoile Angers will meet STB Le Havre (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lyon will play against Lorient (#4) and hope to secure a win.
