The game without a history. Kauhajoki led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Lahti's 28. Kauhajoki forced 19 Lahti turnovers and outrebounded them 40-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 31 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Lahti's players. It was a great evening for American forward Simeon Carter (203-1996, college: Georgia South) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. His fellow American import swingman Rene Rougeau (198-1986, college: UNLV, agency: Blacktop Management) helped adding 20 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). Four Kauhajoki players scored in double figures. Kauhajoki's coach Janne Koskimies felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Arttu Saarijarvi (200-1996) with 23 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Erik Sajantila (195-2001, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 21 points and 6 steals.
