Regular Season Round 27: Roanne - Paris 99-92

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 13th ranked Paris (11-16) was defeated on the road by fourteenth ranked Chorale de Roanne (11-16) 99-92 on Friday. Chorale de Roanne dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Paris' 36 and made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Paris 35-24 including 22 on the defensive glass. Chorale de Roanne looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Loren Jackson (173-1996, college: Akron) who led his team to a victory scoring 19 points and 6 assists. His fellow American import forward Jakeenan Gant (203-1996, college: La-Lafayette) helped adding 19 points and 5 rebounds. Five Chorale de Roanne players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American forward Dustin Sleva (203-1995, college: Shippensburg) with 23 points and 9 rebounds and Armenian-American point guard Ryan Boatright (183-1992, college: UConn) scored 25 points and 6 assists. Chorale de Roanne moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with defeated Paris. Chorale de Roanne will meet at home higher ranked ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne Basket (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Paris will play against Provence Basket (#17) and hope to secure a win.
