Second Stage Round 8: Mulhouse - Rueil 83-68

There was a small surprise when eighth ranked Mulhouse (7-9) won against at home 5th ranked Rueil (7-9) 83-68 on Friday. The winners were led by Senegalese forward Momar NDoye (199-1995) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and point guard William Mensah (175-1995) supported him with 14 points and 4 assists. Four Mulhouse players scored in double figures. Mulhouse's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 18 points by forward Masse Doumbe (203-1987, college: Keiser, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for Rueil. Guard Sya Plaucoste (193-2001) added 12 points for the guests. Mulhouse moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Rueil and Pont-de-Cheruy. Mulhouse will meet higher ranked Lorient (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Rueil will play against C'Chartres and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
