Second Stage Round 8: Le Havre - Angers 91-76

Leading Etoile Angers (13-3) recorded its third loss on the court of fourth ranked STB Le Havre. Visitors were defeated by STB Le Havre 91-76. It ended at the same time the 16-game winning streak of Etoile Angers. STB Le Havre made 27-of-35 charity shots (77.1 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. STB Le Havre brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. Etoile Angers was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Paul Carter (203-1987, college: UIC) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 6 assists and point guard Oumarou Sylla (185-1992) who added 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. American point guard Akaemji Williams (175-1996, college: LSSU) responded with 17 points and Moroccan forward Karim Gourari (203-1989) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. Etoile Angers' coach rotated twelve players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. STB Le Havre (9-7) moved-up to third place, which they share with Lorient and Orchies. Etoile Angers at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. STB Le Havre will play against La Rochelle (#5) on the road in the next round. Etoile Angers will play against Caen (#9) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
