Second Stage Round 8: Orchies - Cergy-Pontoise 49-61

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Pontoise (11-5) defeated 4th ranked Orchesien BC (9-7) in Orchies 61-49 on Saturday. Pontoise made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Pontoise outrebounded Orchesien BC 40-28 including 32 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by naturalized Ivorian center Mohamed Kone (210-1981, college: Valpo) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and forward Dylan Gana (202-1992) supported him with 19 points. Even 11 points and 9 rebounds by Jamaican Ricardo Alliman (201-1987, college: Cedarville) did not help to save the game for Orchesien BC. Forward Jeremy Ricard-Dorigo (200-1994) added 11 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Newly promoted Pontoise maintains first position with 11-5 record. Loser Orchesien BC dropped to the third place with seven games lost. They share the position with Le Havre and Lorient. Pontoise will meet at home league's second-placed SO Maritime Boulogne in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Orchesien BC will play against Vitre and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
